In 1999 The Gold Awards looked at our business landscape to find the key areas of business endeavour characterising our region. We now have 7 broad sector awards covering: content - Creative Gold, technology - Cyber Gold, research - Discovering Gold, small business - Emerging Gold, exporting - Global Gold, infrastructure and professional services - Supporting Gold and tourism - Vibrant Gold.
There are also 2 Best Practise Awards: one for workplace safety - the ACC Workplace Safety Award and one for sustainable business practices - the Green Gold Award.
Each year tribute is made to a major business icon with The Dominion Post Tribute to a Wellington Icon.
