HUNTERS ELEMENT

Wild about Green
Since 2002, Hunters Element has been at the forefront of sustainable practices in the hunting and fishing apparel industry.

Their commitment to eco-friendly innovation has led to groundbreaking achievements, including the introduction of recycled fibers into hunting apparel and the development of PFC-free waterproofing.

The company's efforts have yielded impressive results: repurposing 12.5 million plastic bottles, preventing 309 tonnes of CO2e emissions, and saving 19.15 billion liters of water. Their Leave Only Trails fund has invested over $218,000 in conservation causes.

HUTT CONCRETE PRODUCTS

Reconstructing Construction
Since 2015, Hutt Concrete Products has been committed to implementing sustainable practices in the concrete industry.
Their innovative approach includes using alternative reinforcing in the concrete and incorporating fly ash, repurposing about 37.5 tons of industrial waste annually.
This strategy has led to a new line of products with a 32% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to standard products.
By producing and supplying these locally, they save transportation emissions by an average of 36kg CO2 per tonne.
Their efforts have earned them a $50,000 Sustainability Grant from Upper Hutt City Council.

Hayden Harvey, Managing Director, (pictured with co- Founder Dallin Harvey) explains: "Every new product we create brings us closer to our goal of reaching Carbon Net Zero well before the industry's 2050 target."

JT Group, pioneering exterior building cleaning for over 60 years, has set new industry standards with their innovative Electric Building Wash Technology.
Their cutting-edge Robotic Building Wash Machine and Electric Water Blasters offer quicker, safer, and more efficient cleaning compared to traditional methods.
With a team of 70 nationwide, JT Group serves industrial, commercial, retail, and high-rise properties. Their patented technologies, including self-climbing and wall-adhering capabilities, ensure safety while minimising environmental impact.
Owner,
Ray Tomlinson highlights: "Sustainability has been at the forefront of JT Group. Our robotic system reduces water consumption by 85% while our electric washers eliminate 120 kg CO2e per day, equivalent to driving 800km, while eliminating noise pollution."
JT Group is now building this technology in NZ and taking it internationally.

THE CAPITAL KIWI PROJECT

Predator Competitors 
Since 2018 this innovative community conservation initiative has deployed a 4,600-strong stoat trap network across 24,000 hectares, from Red Rocks to Porirua.
Since 2022, after an absence of around 150 years, 138 kiwi have been welcomed home to the hills surrounding our capital city: part of the largest kiwi translocation ever undertaken.
The kiwi re-wilding has won attention globally (National Geographic, New York Times, Leonardo DiCaprio) and locally (Country Calendar).

ZEALANDIA Te Māra a Tāne
Natures Revival
Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne stands as a beacon of sustainability with its 500-year vision of nature restoration.
This pioneering ecosanctuary has been at the forefront of conservation innovation since 1997, creating the world's first predator exclusion fence and reintroducing extinct species to mainland New Zealand.
Beyond its boundaries, Zealandia leads the Sanctuary to Sea Kia Mouriora te Kaiwharawhara project which works alongside the community to restore the wellbeing of this significant catchment.
The sanctuary has maintained Toitū Carbon Zero certification for eight consecutive years, reducing Scope 1 emissions from 36tCO2e in 2015 to ~15tCO2e in 2022/23.
"Our 500-year vision isn't just about restoring nature within our fence," says Dr. Danielle Shanahan, Chief Executive. "It's about transforming how people live with nature in urban environments, inspiring sustainability in businesses and communities alike."
