DINOSAUR POLO CLUB

Game Boys....
Dinosaur Polo Club was born when Peter and Robert Curry, (pictured) brothers and veterans of the Wellington videogame industry, spent a weekend back in 2013 creating a prototype of a subway-building game. Mini Metro is the name of the game, a game so popular it achieved 1.7 million iOS and Android downloads during lockdown alone.

Dinosaur Polo Club’s team has since grown to 15, continuing to perfect Mini Metro – which routinely cracks the top 100 lists on Apple's App Store – along with the follow-up Mini Motorways, and unannounced titles for numerous videogame platforms.

They have used their reputation to influence Aotearoa’s gaming industry, setting an example on workplace culture, sustainability, ethics and wellbeing.

GARPHILL GAMES

Lord of the Boards....

Garphill Games began as a local man’s hobby, assembling game designs on the dining room table before publishing hugely popular titles through Kickstarter campaigns, such as Raiders of the North Sea.
Raiders was nominated for the prestigious Kennerspiel des Jahres award (Connoisseurs Game of the Year in Germany).

“It was only four months prior, that I decided to quit my day job and take the leap into fulltime with Garphill Games,” says Founder and Director Shem Phillips (pictured).

“So you can imagine how reassuring it was to see so much success after making that commitment. It was clear to me that I was on the right path.”
