AGAIN AGAIN
Guilt-free Cups Deluxe....
After a light bulb moment in March 2018, in which Nada Piatek Managing Director, (pictured) saw a systematic approach to addressing single-use waste in the coffee industry, Again Again was born – and so was the reusable takeaway coffee cup revolution.
"Again Again offers a sustainable solution – in a Kiwi industry that sees 295 million single-use cups entering landfills and the ecosystem annually – through a reusable and refundable coffee cup share system, which stops upwards of 820,000 single-use cups entering landfills annually.” Nada tells us.
The reusable steel cups are available with a deposit and return at participating cafes, giving coffee fiends peace of mind with every sip.

KAM TRANSPORT
Green Machines
KAM Transport started in 1989 with one purpose: moving meat from Wellington City Abattoir to local outlets.
Thirty-six years on, the family-owned business runs more than 90 trucks from Auckland to Christchurch, specialising in refrigerated logistics for meat, produce, and aquaculture.
"We’ve invested a significant amount into managing our environmental impacts however we can” explains GM Bill Bamber (pictured)
The sustainability credentials are notable: KAM holds Toitū enviromark gold certification two years running, the only transport and logistics company of its kind in the country to currently do so.
A 16% reduction in carbon emissions was achieved through bigger loads, fewer trips, and a driver rewards programme.
In 2025, KAM fronted Transporting New Zealand’s Green Fleet Assessment Tool.

ŌHAU GOURMET MUSHROOMS
Mushroom Magic
Ōhau Gourmet Mushrooms (OGM!) transforms forestry by-products into gourmet food, growing premium mushrooms for chefs, retailers and home cooks throughout New Zealand.
Combining science, sustainability and traditional foodcraft, the business cultivates flavour-dense mushrooms before creating a range of healthy foods using techniques such as drying, pickling and fermentation.
Built on circular economy principles, spent growing substrate is composted to generate heat for our growrooms and regenerate sandy soils, ensuring nothing is wasted.
Founder Brent Williams (pictured with Co Founder Jude Horrill ”We believe the future of food lies in regenerative systems that transform waste into value, nourishment and opportunity.”
The business has now grown to include educational experiences and food tourism opportunities while demonstrating how waste streams can become valuable food systems.

SOLID
The New Tube
Toothpaste, reimagined. Founded in 2020 by oral health therapist Laura Nixon, Solid puts your daily paste in a refillable glass jar — and has saved 150,000+ tubes from landfill so far.
The five-strong Elsdon team supplies 70+ stockists, runs 25 refill stations, and has launched the world's first in-store toothpaste dispenser (in five eco-stores).
'We're a values-led business driven by kaitiakitanga, positivity and innovation. Let's ditch the plastic toothpaste tube!’ says Co-founder, Laura Nixon (pictured).
Their formula contains just 5% water versus the industry standard 40%, they were the first oral care brand in NZ to use te reo Māori on labels, and the first non-plastic-packaged oral care line in a NZ supermarket.
